The follow up to the critically acclaimed IMA, ESCM, had some big boots to fill. A majority of the album is as expected produced and mixed by BT himself at Blue House Studios with Abbey Road Studios also featuring. Released in 1997 after the epic house explosion of the mid-nineties the album takes a somewhat different musical direction whilst still keeping true to its proggy epic roots. Musically its best described as a trance, progressive, drum & bass and breakbeat affair. Structurally the album is produced to sound like a continuous mix, something IMA did so well with the addition of Sasha's 'Voyage of Ima' mix. Singles wise 'Flaming June' and 'Remember' were both popular, Flaming June had the BT/Paul Van Dyke remix along with versions from HHC and Chicane, Remember featured a Sasha remix that was produced by Gaetan Schurrer. Its rumoured that the album and single covers featuring the monoliths are a nod to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
